Advantages & Disadvantages of Selective Breedings was written by Bert Markgraf in 2018. This website has many articles on one page, but my post mainly focuses on the first article. It is one-fourth of a page long and has four parts: Introduction, How Selective Breeding Works, Typical Advantages of Selective Breeding, and Problems with Selective Breeding. This article is written for people who want to get into breeding. Some people don't realize that you can breed plants, which Markgraf points out in his article, "Selective breeding can develop desirable traits in plants and animals, but there can be negative effects as well. Without selective breeding, many domestic animals would not exist and many plants that we rely on for food would not be as productive as they are." (Markgraf, 2018, para.1). This article is a universal post for people who are not only interested in animal breeding but plant breeding too. Selective breeding is used to improve an animal or plant and their production. While selective breeding has many advantages, like better milk production in dairy cattle, there can also be disadvantages, such as plants and animals being susceptible to diseases.
